West Indies beat England by 4 wickets in the first match of the three-match series to take a 1-0 lead in the series. West Indies had a 200-run challenge to win on the last day of the first Test, which the team achieved by losing 6 wickets. However, West Indies fast bowler Grabial, who took 9 wickets in the match, was adjudged Man of the Match.

During the entire Test match, a great game performance was seen by the West Indies. England tried to return to the match in the second innings. England scored 313 runs in their second innings and set a target of 200 runs to win in front of the West Indies. West Indies had a very poor start and the team lost their three wickets for just 27 runs. It seemed at one time that the England team would be able to name itself by tea time.

Blackwood’s last day

But after falling three wickets, Blackwood made a crucial partnership of 73 runs for the fourth wicket with Chase. However, Chase returned to the pavilion after scoring 37 runs. Blackwood then shared a 68-run partnership with Dowrich for the fifth wicket. Stokes tried to bring England back into the match by dismissing Dowrich for 20 runs.

However, when the West Indies team was only 11 runs out of victory, Blackwood was dismissed by 95 runs. Had Blackwood managed to score 5 more runs, it would have been the second century of his Test career. However, Captain Taylor gave the West Indies the victory while playing an innings of 14 not out.

England bowlers tried their best to bring the match into their court on the last day. For England, Archer took three, Stokes took two and Wood took one wicket. The last two matches of the series will be played at The Old Trafford ground in Manchester.

T20 series between Australia and the West Indies has been canceled

Australia’s October T20 series against the West Indies The Calling-19 epidemic has affected the international sports calendar due to the postponement of the T20 World Cup in Australia in November and this month. There is an ODI series against Zimbabwe.

The Australian team could be seen playing at their home ground at the end of November. A Test match will be played between Australia and Afghanistan from November 21 to November 25. Australia recently canceled a series against New Zealand and Zimbabwe this month.
