Javagal Srinath recalls Indias 2003 World Cup final loss

Australia lost 35 wickets in front of India to score a mammoth score of 359 runs. India’s pace attack, in which Zaheer Khan, Srinath and Ashish Nehra, together scored a total of 211 runs.

For former India fast bowler Javagal Srinath, the 2003 World Cup final in Johannesburg could have been the absolute best performance for his career. Cricket Australia said the purpose of the three-match West Indies series was to practice for the T20 World Cup, but could no longer meet that purpose. “In light of this development … matches were postponed … agreed to do so.”

Earlier, the India-Australia T20 series in October was canceled. It has not been decided whether the T20 series between India and Australia will be held again. Cricket Australia recently applied to India to play a T20 series in the December-January tour.

The Australian team could be seen playing at their home ground at the end of November. A Test match will be played between Australia and Afghanistan from November 21 to November 25. Australia recently canceled a series against New Zealand and Zimbabwe this month.
