Roman Reigns on a return to the ring and the “WrestleMania” match against the Undertaker

– Roman Reigns recently spoke to Kayla Braxton and David Spade about the new filmThe Wrong Missy“, also commenting on his fans and a return to the ring.

“I want everyone to be safe. Of course I want to be in the ring. I’ve worked for the past ten years of my life, I’ve learned every day. All the security that I have in my life, the ability to protect my family and be safe, all of that is because of the WWE and the fan base. I am extremely grateful for that. And of course I want to entertain again on a weekly basis as soon as possible. “

The Undertaker theme came up, and even though Roman Reigns only watched the first episode of “The Last Ride”, he talked about their match at “WrestleMania 33”.

“Sure, I saw him after the match and we talked to each other. The next year he apologized to me. I didn’t know he needed hip surgery at all. I knew he was not in the best shape physically and if you were in this ring for 25 years you just have chronic injuries. But the limitations with him – I had no idea how bad it was. I tried to keep the match going, but with an opponent like Undertaker, you want to show the perfect match. You want to be flawless. If you have your matches against Shawn [Michaels] or Triple H sees, it hurts not to be in the same category. Definitely hats off. He is a fighter and is still getting into the ring, risking his health for the fans. I think we all know how special our fans are and they are connected to our product like no other type of entertainment. So that only shows his strong bond to wrestling and to the fans. ”

– Speaking of WrestleMania: The Undertaker was a guest on the Bill Simmons podcast and talked about his “streak” and his “WrestleMania” match against Brock Lesnar, in which he suffered a concussion early in the match.

“If you look at that again, it’s just ‘boom!’, All the energy was gone in the arena. Nobody knew about it. Brock was very nervous, you could see it. My memory ends around 3:30 p.m. My wife came backstage as usual and we went through the normal procedure. I told her what was going to happen and calmed her down a bit and that was it. I don’t know anything about the match. I think around 4:00 the next morning I at least knew my name again. After that I stayed at home in the dark for two weeks. I’ve had a concussion before, but I’ve never had one. It was crazy. I’ve watched the match multiple times and still have no idea where the concussion came from. I can see where my body language is changing, but nothing that explains the injury. It was a bit like when Hogan Andre was [the Giant] defeated. Hulk got that mega push and became the wrestling’s face, but you always thought, how was he going to defeat Andre the Giant? It was the same with Brock. A lot of people got excited about it, a lot of people said that he didn’t need this victory, that someone else needed the spot more. But that’s the business. “

The taker also talked about when he and WWE realized how big the story about the streak is:

“I think that was against [Ric] Flair in Toronto. In the end I raised my fingers and counted. Someone said to me, ‘You know you’re undefeated, don’t you?’ And I said ‘Oh really?’ I had no idea. There was so much to do, 300 working days a year, you don’t think about victories and losses. And then it developed a life of its own. 10-0 at WrestleMania, madness. And it went until 21 until Brock defeated me.

– Bobby Lashley spoke to Stephanie Chase (Digital Spy) about his feud with Rusev. In the course of this, Lana had divorced Rusev and came together with Lashley instead. At some point, Rusev was then removed from the broadcasts before being released at the big cuts, leaving the feud with no real end.

“I think there was no real end. There was still so much we could have done, everyone wanted Rusev to tear my arms off and beat me up with it. I don’t know why the feud broke off. We were at a point where Rusev should have got his revenge, but he didn’t get it. I would have loved to have another match with him. He delivered so many great matches, I would have loved to have had one with him. ”

Jeff Hardy has renewed his WWE contract!

– There won’t be a reunion of the Hardys in the next few years, because Jeff Hardy has extended his WWE contract! What the reigning WWE Intercontinental Champion Jeff Hardy already hinted at in an interview with BT Sport recently has now been confirmed by Dave Meltzer. Jeff and his brother Matt had both signed 3-year contracts in 2017, but Jeff’s contract was unilaterally extended by WWE because the 43-year-old had been sidelined for a long time due to injuries and personal problems. While Matt left the market leader after the contract ended and signed with All Elite Wrestling, Jeff was bound even longer. But now he has signed a new contract that ties him to WWE for either 3 years or even 5 years.

– Meanwhile, WrestleVotes reports that another WWE Superstar recently decided not to renew his contract but to leave the company after his current contract ends. No information was given about who it was.

– For the past two weeks, Friday Night SmackDown has been broadcasting videos announcing the arrival of a blonde female wrestler. Meanwhile it is becoming apparent that this is Carmella, who will return to the shows with a new gimmick. The 32-year-old has not been part of the WWE shows since May, although it is unknown why she was absent. She played her last match on May 10 at the “Money in the Bank” PPV.

– Ivar is undergoing neck surgery this Monday in Birmingham, Alabama. It is still unclear which injury the Viking Raider sustained, but he is threatened with a break of at least a year. Todd Smith, his real name, had previously struggled with neck problems, which were exacerbated by the unsuccessful dive last week. The injury could also be very bad news for his tag team partner Erik. Injury to a tag team wrestler at WWE very often means that his partner also wastes the shows. Erik’s defeat to Lashley yesterday in just 2 minutes should not be a good sign for the 36-year-old.

– Dominik Mysterio made it to the top of WWE within a few weeks. As the PWInsider reports, the WWE officials already count the 23-year-old among the top 3 or top 4 baby faces in the RAW roster. Rey Mysterio’s son has more than just convinced the WWE officials since his first match at the “WWE SummerSlam” and there is currently no end in sight to his push.
