NXT WWE wants to prevent Kairi Sane from signing another promotion

– As was announced yesterday, there is a second COVID-19 case at WWE. Accordingly, a talent under NXT development contract was tested positive for the virus. According to ProWrestlingSheet.com, it is a talent that has so far not been used regularly in the NXT shows. In an official statement, the market leader announced that the person was last present at the NXT taping on June 9th in the WWE Performance Center. Since that day, no other people have complained of symptoms. Incidentally, the wrestlers and employees only learned about the positive COVID-19 case yesterday via social media.

The TV tapings planned for Tuesday in the WWE Performance Center, in which RAW and Smackdown were to be recorded for the coming week, were canceled. All talents and employees as well as the production crew in the WWE Performance Center are immediately tested on COVID-19 today, so far the company has not carried out such tests. So far, the talents and employees as well as the production crew only had to answer questionnaires and their temperature was measured before they were allowed to enter the hall.

According to WrestleTalk, people with an elevated temperature were also allowed into the hall under “special circumstances”. As soon as the results of the COVID-19 tests carried out today have been received, the planned tapings will be carried out as before. If everything goes as planned, RAW, Smackdown, two editions of 205 Live and two NXT episodes will be recorded on Wednesday. It remains to be seen whether everything will go as planned, because for the first time all wrestlers and employees will really be tested for COVID-19.

STATEMENT FROM WWE’S ASSOCIATE MEDICAL DIRECTOR

“A developmental talent, who was last on site at WWE’s training facility on Tuesday, June 9, has tested positive for COVID-19. Since that time, no other individuals that attended the facility have reported symptoms. However, out of an abundance of caution and to ensure the health and safety of the company’s performers and staff, all talent, production crew and employees on site at the training and production facilities will be tested for COVID-19 immediately. Following the test results, WWE plans to proceed with its normal television production schedule. ”

– Dr. Jeffrey Dugas, WWE Associate Medical Director

– At the taping for this week’s editions of RAW, Smackdown and Main Event on Monday, for the first time since mid-March, there were some fans among the audience again, which of course could be taken as a prime example of bad timing due to the positive COVID-19 test. It was a small group of selected Florida hardcore fans, including a few friends of talent. The fans were used as spectators together with NXT talents.

According to WrestleTalk, the NXT talents were not informed that regular non-company viewers will also be there. Before entering the hall, the fans had to sign that they were aware of the risk and WWE would not accept any liability. They also assured them not to take photos and spread spoilers. As with the regular WWEern, the fans were not tested on COVID-19, there were only the temperature measurements and a questionnaire. According to Bryan Alvarez, the audience, neither the regular fans nor the NXT talents, were not allowed to wear masks. So the fans were told that they shouldn’t come if they wanted to wear a mask. WWE is of the opinion that viewers with masks on TV would not work well.

Jeff Hardy has renewed his WWE contract!

– There won’t be a reunion of the Hardys in the next few years, because Jeff Hardy has extended his WWE contract! What the reigning WWE Intercontinental Champion Jeff Hardy already hinted at in an interview with BT Sport recently has now been confirmed by Dave Meltzer. Jeff and his brother Matt had both signed 3-year contracts in 2017, but Jeff’s contract was unilaterally extended by WWE because the 43-year-old had been sidelined for a long time due to injuries and personal problems. While Matt left the market leader after the contract ended and signed with All Elite Wrestling, Jeff was bound even longer. But now he has signed a new contract that ties him to WWE for either 3 years or even 5 years.

– Meanwhile, WrestleVotes reports that another WWE Superstar recently decided not to renew his contract but to leave the company after his current contract ends. No information was given about who it was.

– For the past two weeks, Friday Night SmackDown has been broadcasting videos announcing the arrival of a blonde female wrestler. Meanwhile it is becoming apparent that this is Carmella, who will return to the shows with a new gimmick. The 32-year-old has not been part of the WWE shows since May, although it is unknown why she was absent. She played her last match on May 10 at the “Money in the Bank” PPV.

– Ivar is undergoing neck surgery this Monday in Birmingham, Alabama. It is still unclear which injury the Viking Raider sustained, but he is threatened with a break of at least a year. Todd Smith, his real name, had previously struggled with neck problems, which were exacerbated by the unsuccessful dive last week. The injury could also be very bad news for his tag team partner Erik. Injury to a tag team wrestler at WWE very often means that his partner also wastes the shows. Erik’s defeat to Lashley yesterday in just 2 minutes should not be a good sign for the 36-year-old.

– Dominik Mysterio made it to the top of WWE within a few weeks. As the PWInsider reports, the WWE officials already count the 23-year-old among the top 3 or top 4 baby faces in the RAW roster. Rey Mysterio’s son has more than just convinced the WWE officials since his first match at the “WWE SummerSlam” and there is currently no end in sight to his push.
